At Sai Dental Care, we understand how important it is to have a beautiful smile. If you are missing teeth and feel uncomfortable when you smile, Endosteal implants or implant-supported dentures may be the perfect solution. Unlike regular dentures that can slip, or are occasionally painful, Endosteal implants are a permanent remedy in restoring missing teeth.
Endosteal Implants are dental implants shaped like a small screw, cylinder, or plate. They are surgically placed directly into the jawbone to hold crowns, implant-supported bridges, and fixed dentures. Endosteal implants can stabilize an existing tooth or used as an anchor to provide support for one or more artificial teeth.
The entire procedure is done in two stages. During the first stage, the implant is placed into the jawbone. After a period of time, usually four to six weeks, the patient’s bone will grow around the implant. This process is called osseointegration, when the bone and the implant fuse together to create a strong foundation. Once this occurs, the patient is ready for the second stage. Our doctor then places the abutment on to the implant. Subsequently, a crown, denture or bridge can be constructed to replace the missing tooth/teeth.
